Enrolment is seasonal and the window is narrow. Campaigns front-load open house attendance and then nurture through application deadlines.

The problem
These are the problems we see most often in private schools accounts before we take them over.
The fix
Week 1
A full read of your current private schools visibility: rankings, ad spend efficiency, tracking accuracy and the three competitors taking your calls.
Weeks 2–3
Tracking fixed first. There is no point optimising against numbers that are wrong, and most accounts we inherit have broken conversion tracking.
Month 2+
SEO and content build the base while paid covers the gap. As organic rankings climb, paid spend gets reallocated rather than increased.
Ongoing
Monthly reporting on booked work, not impressions. If the number is not moving, we say so and change the plan.
The niche
Everything runs on the admissions calendar. Awareness and open house campaigns belong in the fall, applications and financial aid in winter, decisions and re-enrolment in spring, with a summer window for late movers. Two people have to be convinced — the parent who pays and the child who has to want to go. Tours are the real conversion event, not enquiries. Retention matters as much as recruitment, because a family that stays is many years of tuition.

The checklist
If you are already working with an agency, this is a useful list to hold them to. If you are not, it is what we build first.

Earlier than most schools do. Families who relocate or switch schools start looking a full cycle ahead, so awareness work should run well before your first open house, with enquiry capture and nurture in place to hold them until a tour. If you only advertise in the weeks around application deadlines, you are competing for families who already have a shortlist you are not on.
Tours, then applications, then enrolled students. Enquiry counts are easy to inflate and tell you nothing about fit. Track the whole path — enquiry to tour, tour to application, application to enrolled — and you will see exactly where families drop out. Most schools discover the loss sits between enquiry and tour, which is a follow-up speed and scheduling problem rather than an advertising problem.
Put affordability information on its own page and be concrete about the process, the deadlines and what families are typically asked to provide, without implying that the sticker price is negotiable. Framing it as access to the programme rather than as a discount keeps the value conversation intact. Families who do not know aid exists will not enquire at all, so silence costs you more applications than it protects.
