Divorce and custody searches are private, repeated and emotionally loaded. Content that answers the question without pressure earns the consultation.

The problem
These are the problems we see most often in family law accounts before we take them over.
The fix
Week 1
A full read of your current family law visibility: rankings, ad spend efficiency, tracking accuracy and the three competitors taking your calls.
Weeks 2–3
Tracking fixed first. There is no point optimising against numbers that are wrong, and most accounts we inherit have broken conversion tracking.
Month 2+
SEO and content build the base while paid covers the gap. As organic rankings climb, paid spend gets reallocated rather than increased.
Ongoing
Monthly reporting on booked work, not impressions. If the number is not moving, we say so and change the plan.
The niche
Family law buyers research privately over weeks, often late at night and in incognito windows, and they visit several times before calling — which quietly breaks last-click attribution. They rarely leave reviews, because nobody wants a public record of their divorce. They price-shop hard against flat-fee and DIY services, so the consultation has to sell judgment rather than paperwork. Enquiry volume is uneven across the year; many firms see it lift after the holidays.

The checklist
If you are already working with an agency, this is a useful list to hold them to. If you are not, it is what we build first.

Ask at the right moment and make the option to use initials or a first name explicit. Many clients will write something once they know their full name is not going to sit next to a custody case. Also collect reviews from referring advisors, opposing counsel who send conflicts your way, and consultations that did not become cases. Never draft reviews for clients or offer anything in exchange.
Publishing a consultation fee filters well. Publishing hourly rates or retainer amounts usually costs you cases, because a number without context reads as expensive next to a cheap online divorce. A better middle ground is explaining what drives cost — contested versus uncontested, custody disputes, discovery — so the prospect self-selects before the call. Firms with genuine flat-fee packages are the exception; those convert better when priced openly.
Usually the screening happens too late. If conflicts, county, income and case type are not checked before the calendar slot is booked, your attorneys spend the week on matters they cannot take. Add a short intake form, have staff qualify by phone, and charge for the consultation if your volume supports it. Track retained cases per consultation as your main number — raw enquiry count tells you nothing here.
